Te mapa
Samut Songkhram is the capital of Thailand's smallest province, set where the Mae Klong River curves into the Gulf of Thailand southwest of Bangkok. From above, the river is the organising line. The town clusters on its banks, and a fine web of khlongs spreads across flat land given over to coconut groves, fruit orchards and, closer to the sea, rectangular salt pans.
The town is widely known for the Maeklong Railway Market, where vendors pull back their awnings and baskets each time a train rolls through the stalls to the terminus by the river. A short distance upstream, Amphawa and its canalside houses draw weekend visitors from the capital. The province remains closely tied to water transport and to the rhythm of the tides.
A Samut Songkhram map poster shows how much of the place is defined by water. The broad meander of the river, the branching canals and the railway line ending at the riverbank combine into a pattern that looks almost botanical in monochrome, softer and more irregular than any city grid.
The river sweeps through town in a wide curve before reaching the gulf, giving the poster a strong central line that everything else seems to follow.
The Maeklong line runs straight into the town centre and ends near the water, a thin ruled stroke that passes directly through the famous market.
Outside the core, dozens of narrow khlongs branch across the flat delta land, producing a delicate, root-like texture that fills the edges of the map.

Koteā ko Samut Songkhram
For anyone who has taken the train to Maeklong or drifted along the canals at Amphawa, this map is a quiet reminder of slow water and early markets. It also suits anyone drawn to river deltas, where the geography does the design work on its own.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with the date of a trip, and pick one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Order a printed poster on matte paper, framed if you like, or download 300 DPI PNG and PDF files for $9.
