Te mapa
San Fernando lies on the broad, flat lowland of Pampanga, north of Manila. On a map the city reads as a dense core around its cathedral and municipal buildings, with streets spreading outward along the main roads. The San Fernando River curves through the area, and the pattern of barangays around the centre fills in with irregular blocks and lanes.
The expressway to the north passes along the city's edge, its long straight lines contrasting with the older, more organic streets near the centre. The former railway station, remembered as a stop on the route of the Bataan Death March, sits within this older fabric. Further out, roads fan through rice fields and growing subdivisions towards neighbouring towns.
The city calls itself the Christmas Capital of the Philippines because of its giant parol lanterns, which are displayed and judged every December in the Ligligan Parul festival. A San Fernando map poster traces the setting for that tradition: a flat, closely built town where the light shows are staged each year.
The historic centre around the Metropolitan Cathedral forms the densest cluster of streets on the map, with short blocks and narrow lanes tightly packed together.
A slow river winds through the lowland city, its curves standing out against the straighter roads and giving the flat terrain a sense of direction.
The North Luzon Expressway draws a long, clean line past the city, marking the link to Manila and separating the older town from newer development.

Koteā ko San Fernando
For families from Pampanga, San Fernando is often a hometown or a Christmas destination, a place tied to lanterns, church bells and relatives. A clean map of its streets is a quiet way to keep that connection visible at home, wherever home now is.
