Te mapa
San Kamphaeng lies east of Chiang Mai, in the broad flat floor of the Ping valley. From above, the town is a line of settlement along the main road, surrounded by rectangular rice paddies, irrigation channels and village clusters. To the east the plain rises gently into forested hills, so the map moves from ruled geometry to looser contour-shaped land.
The district is known for its crafts. Bo Sang, the umbrella-making village famous for painted paper parasols, is within it, and the area has a long tradition of silk weaving. A San Kamphaeng map poster traces the roads that link these workshop villages, the same routes visitors take on day trips from the city.
San Kamphaeng is also the ancestral home of the Shinawatra family, whose silk business began here. On the map, though, it is the pattern of the land that stands out. Narrow village lanes branch from the main road, temple compounds sit among houses, and the fields form a quiet grid between them.
The main road from Chiang Mai runs through the district and past craft villages such as Bo Sang. It is a clear spine across the lower half of the poster.
Rectangular rice plots and irrigation channels cover the valley floor. In print they form a fine, even texture between the scattered villages.
East of town the flat valley gives way to forested slopes. The road pattern thins out there, and the poster gets a natural edge.

Koteā ko San Kamphaeng
For travellers who spent a morning watching umbrellas being painted or silk being woven, this map holds the whole trip in one frame. For local families it shows the fields and lanes of home.
Add your own title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps the date of a visit or a family name. Five styles are available: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand suits the rice country especially well.
