Te mapa
San Miguelito lies just north-east of central Panama City and is almost entirely surrounded by it. It is one of the most densely populated districts in the country. The terrain is hilly, so from above the streets rarely run straight for long. They bend around slopes, follow ridge lines and drop into small valleys, creating an intricate, closely packed pattern.
Much of the district grew rapidly from the mid-twentieth century onward, as families moved toward the capital and settled on the hills. The map shows that history, with planned neighbourhoods of regular blocks sitting alongside areas of irregular, winding lanes. Major roads, including the Transístmica, cross the district and carry traffic between the city and the rest of the isthmus.
San Miguelito is also a key transport hub, served by the Panama Metro, with Line 1 and Line 2 meeting there. A San Miguelito map poster presents the district as a dense, textured composition. Its hills, main roads and neighbourhoods are drawn in fine, even lines that reward a closer look.
Streets curve and branch around steep slopes throughout the district. The result is a detailed, organic pattern that looks almost like a contour drawing.
The main road across the isthmus runs through San Miguelito. It forms a clear, strong line that organises traffic and many of the surrounding neighbourhoods.
Metro Lines 1 and 2 meet in the district, making it one of the main transport crossroads of the metropolitan area.
