Te mapa
Santo Antônio do Monte lies in the centre-west of Minas Gerais, in hilly country typical of the state's interior. From above, the town is built across uneven ground, with streets following the contours in curves and switchbacks and a denser centre around the main church and square. Roads leave the town along ridges toward neighbouring municipalities.
The town is best known in Brazil as a centre of fireworks production, often described as the national capital of fireworks. Many small and medium manufacturers operate in and around the municipality, and the industry has shaped local employment and identity for generations.
A Santo Antônio do Monte map poster shows a town that adapts to its terrain: blocks tilt and bend, valleys open between neighbourhoods, and streams run through the low ground. It is a lively line drawing, with more movement than the regular grids common elsewhere in Brazil.
Roads wind across the hillsides rather than running straight, producing a curved, flowing street pattern that gives the map a sense of motion.
The older core gathers around the main church and plaza, a denser area where blocks become smaller and more regular than on the slopes.
Small watercourses run through the lower ground between districts, creating open corridors and soft lines that separate one part of town from another.
