Segrate lies just east of Milan in Lombardy, between the city and the flat farmland of the Po plain. It is made up of several distinct districts, and the map shows them as separate clusters: older village centres, modern residential estates and business parks, divided by main roads and railways.
Linate airport sits on the town's western edge, with its runway forming one of the longest straight lines on the map. Beside it lies the Idroscalo, an artificial lake built for seaplanes and now used as a park. Milano 2, a planned residential district from the 1970s, adds curving streets set in greenery.
