Te mapa
Sena Madureira sits in the state of Acre, in Brazil's far west, on the banks of the Iaco River. Seen from above, the town is a compact grid of streets against the river's curve, surrounded by forest and cleared land. The Iaco is the dominant line on the map, looping in wide meanders that shaped where the town could grow.
Like many Amazonian towns, it grew as a river settlement during the rubber era, when waterways were the main routes in and out. Today a highway links it to Rio Branco, the state capital, but the river still matters for transport and daily life. Seasonal floods can raise the Iaco considerably, a regular part of the local calendar.
The Sena Madureira map poster draws the town as it relates to the water: a tight network of streets on one bank, the river's broad curve, and a scatter of roads heading into the green. The contrast between the orderly grid and the winding river makes it a strong, simple image.
The river loops past the town in deep meanders, the most prominent shape on the map and the reason the settlement exists where it does.
Streets form a small, fairly regular grid close to the riverbank, with blocks thinning out as the town meets forest and pasture.
A single main road leaves town towards Rio Branco, a clear line cutting across the otherwise water-shaped landscape.
