Pucallpa Map Poster & Print

Pucallpa is the capital of Peru's Ucayali Region and sits on the west bank of the Ucayali River, one of the major tributaries of the Amazon. On a map the city spreads out from the river in a grid of streets, while the river itself forms a wide, looping channel along the eastern edge.

The city is the end point of the Federico Basadre Highway, the main road link from Lima across the Andes to the Amazon lowlands. From here, goods and passengers continue by boat along the Ucayali. Port areas and riverfront markets line the water, while residential districts extend inland.

A Pucallpa map poster shows a city shaped by its river. North of the centre lies Yarinacocha, a large oxbow lake left by an old meander of the Ucayali, with communities and lodges along its shores. Together, the river, lake and grid create a distinctive pattern of water and streets.
