Te mapa
Sentosa lies just south of Singapore's main island, linked to it by a road bridge, a boardwalk, a monorail and a cable car. It was once known as Pulau Blakang Mati and served as a military site before being redeveloped for leisure from the 1970s onward.
On a map, the island's southern coast is shaped into a sequence of beaches and curved lagoons, Siloso, Palawan and Tanjong among them. The northern side holds Resorts World Sentosa, including Universal Studios Singapore, while the eastern end is taken up by Sentosa Cove, a marina district built on reclaimed land with its own small islets and waterways.
A Sentosa map poster shows an unusually designed coastline, where engineered bays and marina basins sit alongside older features such as Fort Siloso on the western tip. The dense road loops, looping paths and short connecting links make it a lively, detailed map for its small size.
A row of man-made bays and lagoons along the south coast gives the shoreline a scalloped, regular rhythm that stands out clearly on the map.
The marina district at the island's eastern end is laid out on reclaimed land as a pattern of fingers, basins and small residential islets.
The former coastal fort at the western tip is a reminder of the island's military past and anchors that end of the map.
