Shuangfeng lies in Chongqing municipality, in the hilly country that makes up much of the eastern Sichuan Basin. The land here is folded into small ridges and valleys, so the town has no room for a regular grid. Its streets follow the terrain, bending along slopes and gathering where the ground levels out.
Like many towns in the region, it sits among farmland that has been shaped over generations into terraces and small fields on the hillsides. Roads link it to neighbouring towns through winding routes that avoid the steepest ground, and small streams run through the valleys below.
