Te mapa
Sonepur, the headquarters of Subarnapur district in western Odisha, sits where the Tel river joins the broad Mahanadi. The confluence defines the whole map. Two wide river channels, often braided with sandbanks, meet at a sharp angle, and the town fills the ground between and beside them. Dense lanes crowd the older quarter, and farmland opens out beyond.
The town is often called a second Varanasi because of the many temples along its riverbanks, and it has long been a centre of religious life in the region. The surrounding district is also known for handloom weaving, including the ikat textiles associated with western Odisha.
A Sonepur map poster is shaped above all by water. The wide rivers take up a large share of the frame and set the town's dense streets against broad, calm surfaces. The effect is striking in a minimalist print, where the confluence reads almost like a drawn letter.
The Tel meets the Mahanadi right at the town, and the junction of two wide channels is the defining shape of the map.
The older town lies close to the water, where temples line the banks and give Sonepur its devotional character.
Seasonal sandbars and braided channels in the riverbeds add texture to the water areas of the map.

Koteā ko Sonepur
Sonepur means a great deal to families from western Odisha and to anyone who has visited its riverside temples. A map of the confluence is a meaningful piece for a home altar room, a study or a gift to parents.
Add a title, a subtitle such as a family name or a festival date, and edit the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand and Paper give the wide rivers a warm, quiet tone.
