Te mapa
Sōsa lies in the northeast of Chiba Prefecture, facing the Pacific along the northern stretch of the long Kujūkuri coast. It was formed in 2006 by merging the former town of Yōkaichiba with Nosaka. On a map the defining feature is the coastline itself, an unbroken line of sand running almost straight, with the settled areas set back from the water.
Inland, the land is low and heavily farmed, and the grid of paddy fields shows up as fine rectilinear patterns between the roads. The older town centre of Yōkaichiba forms the densest cluster of streets, while smaller neighbourhoods and farming hamlets scatter across the plain. Rail and road lines cut across it all with long, even strokes.
A Sōsa map poster captures a quieter side of Japan, far from the Tokyo skyline but within its orbit. The composition is unusually horizontal in feeling: flat land, a level coast and the ocean filling one side of the frame. It suits anyone who knows the town and wants a calm, uncluttered picture of it.
The Pacific shore runs as a long, almost straight line of beach, giving the poster a strong edge and a large, empty sea area that balances the detailed land.
Between roads and villages, rectangular field boundaries form a fine pattern that reads as texture across the plain, typical of coastal Chiba farmland.
The former town of Yōkaichiba holds the densest knot of streets, the main urban centre of the merged city and the natural focus of the map.

Koteā ko Sōsa
For people from Sōsa, or anyone who has spent summers on the Kujūkuri shore, the map is a reminder of wide skies and flat, open land. Its restraint fits Japanese interiors and minimal rooms well.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a date or a family name, and choose one of five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint works well with the ocean edge.
