Te mapa
South Old Bridge is a community within Old Bridge Township in Middlesex County, New Jersey. From above it looks like classic American suburbia: residential streets that curve and loop, cul-de-sacs branching off them, and a few larger roads carrying traffic between neighbourhoods and toward the regional highways.
Between the developments, strips of woodland, streams and parks break up the pattern, so the map alternates between dense street patterns and open patches. Shopping centres and schools show up as larger blocks along the main roads. The layout reflects the postwar growth that turned much of central New Jersey from farmland into commuter neighbourhoods.
A South Old Bridge map poster turns that everyday pattern into something graphic. The rounded streets and dead-end loops create an intricate, almost organic texture, very different from a city grid. For anyone who grew up here, the shape of their own street will be easy to find.
Short dead-end streets branch from curving roads, creating a pattern of loops and knobs that gives the map its distinctive texture.
A handful of larger roads cross the area, linking the residential sections to one another and to the wider highway network.
Wooded areas, streams and parks separate the neighbourhoods, leaving quiet open spaces between the dense clusters of streets.
