Te mapa
South Peabody covers the southern part of Peabody on the North Shore of Massachusetts, between Salem and Lynn. From above it is mostly residential: winding suburban streets and cul-de-sacs, small ponds and patches of woodland, and major routes cutting across the area towards Boston and the coast.
Peabody grew up around leather tanning, and in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries it was one of the leading leather towns in the United States. Today the area is primarily suburban, with commercial strips along the main roads and quiet neighbourhoods set back from them.
A South Peabody map poster shows how a New England suburb is organised: curving local streets, a few firm arterials, and water and green space scattered between. It is an understated image of a place defined more by everyday life than by landmarks.
Residential roads curve and loop rather than following a grid, creating a soft, irregular pattern typical of North Shore suburbs.
Larger highways and routes cross the area, forming strong lines that divide the neighbourhoods and link them to Boston and nearby towns.
Small ponds and wooded patches appear throughout, giving the map open shapes between streets and breaking up the suburban texture.

South Peabody is where many people bought a first house, raised children or grew up. A map of it feels personal in a way a city skyline rarely does.
