Te mapa
South Vineland is the southern part of Vineland, in Cumberland County, New Jersey. From above, the area inherits the unusually regular plan drawn up by Charles K. Landis, who founded Vineland in 1861 as a planned agricultural community. Wide, straight roads meet at right angles, dividing the land into long rectangular parcels of houses, orchards, greenhouses and fields.
Landis designed the settlement around a broad central avenue and insisted on generous lots with room for farming, a pattern still visible in the spacing of its roads. Vineland is also where Thomas Welch, a local dentist, first pasteurised grape juice in 1869, the origin of the Welch's brand. Further out, the grid fades into the woodland typical of South Jersey.
A South Vineland map poster is a clear example of planning drawn onto the land. The long straight roads create a strong, almost architectural composition, broken only by streams, patches of forest and later subdivisions. Blueprint emphasises the ordered structure, while Paper recalls the look of an early surveyor's plat.
Straight roads meeting at right angles form a strikingly regular rural grid, the dominant feature of the poster and a direct legacy of the town's founding plan.
Long, narrow parcels between the roads still hold greenhouses, orchards and fields, giving the map a spacious rhythm of open blocks.
Toward the outer edges, streams and patches of forest interrupt the grid, adding soft, irregular shapes to an otherwise geometric layout.

Koteā ko South Vineland
South Vineland is a place of family farms, first homes and generations who stayed close to the land. A map of the area honours that continuity, and its orderly lines make a handsome piece for a kitchen, study or office.
Personalise the title and subtitle with a family name, a farm name or a year, and keep or change the coordinates line. Five styles are available, Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, as HD files in six sizes or as a printed poster.
