Struga Map Poster & Print
Struga stands on the northern shore of Lake Ohrid in North Macedonia, at the point where the Black Drin River flows out of the lake and heads north toward Albania. That meeting of lake and river is the defining feature of the town's plan, dividing it into two banks joined by a series of bridges.
From above, the shoreline curves gently along the southern edge of the map, while the river cuts north through the centre in a straight, calm channel. Streets on both banks run toward the water, and a promenade follows the lakefront. Beyond the town, fields and villages spread across the plain toward the mountains.

Struga is known for its annual poetry festival, the Struga Poetry Evenings, held since the 1960s, with readings traditionally staged near the river bridges. Lake Ohrid itself, one of Europe's oldest lakes, shares UNESCO recognition across the region.
