Te mapa
Tacaratu is a town in the interior of Pernambuco, in northeastern Brazil, set in the semi-arid sertão not far from the São Francisco River. The municipality is part of the lands of the Pankararu, an Indigenous people whose territory extends across Tacaratu and neighbouring municipalities and whose culture is closely tied to this region.
From above, the town appears as a compact cluster of streets around a central square and church, fitted to uneven ground at the foot of hills. Main roads lead out across dry caatinga scrubland, with small settlements, farm tracks and seasonal watercourses scattered across a wide, sparsely populated landscape.
A Tacaratu map poster draws out the modest, clear shape of a sertão town: a tight street core, a handful of roads extending into open country, and plenty of empty space around it. The simplicity is part of its appeal, and it makes a sincere and personal print for anyone connected to this corner of Pernambuco.
Streets gather around a central square and church, forming the densest part of the town and the natural focal point of the composition.
The town sits against rising ground, so some streets curve and step with the terrain rather than running in perfectly straight lines.
Beyond the town, roads and tracks cross dry scrubland toward scattered villages, leaving wide open areas that frame the settlement on the print.

Koteā ko Tacaratu
For people from the sertão who now live in larger cities, a map of Tacaratu is a direct connection to origins, family and a distinctive landscape. It fits well in a home office, hallway or bedroom.
Personalise the title and subtitle with a family name or date, adjust the coordinates line, and pick from Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand suits the caatinga.
