Valley floor
The flat valley allows streets and roads to spread easily, so the map shows a loose mix of residential clusters, arterial roads and open ground.

Te mapa
Tacarigua lies in the state of Carabobo in north-central Venezuela, in the broad valley east of Valencia. From above the area shows a mix of residential streets, main roads and patches of farmland. The valley floor is flat and the mountains of the coastal range rise to the north, which frames the whole scene on a wider map.
The name has deep local roots. Tacarigua is also the old indigenous name for Lake Valencia, the large lake that lies to the south-east of the Valencia metropolitan area and is one of the largest freshwater lakes in Venezuela. Towns in this valley have long been connected to the lake basin and its farmland.
A Tacarigua map poster shows the transition zone between the Valencia metropolitan area and the quieter land around it. In a minimalist print, denser street clusters sit beside the longer lines of highways and rural roads. The result is a varied composition that reflects a place in between city and countryside.
The flat valley allows streets and roads to spread easily, so the map shows a loose mix of residential clusters, arterial roads and open ground.
Mountains of the coastal range rise to the north of the valley, where the street network thins out as the terrain steepens.
Tacarigua is also the indigenous name for Lake Valencia, the large freshwater lake that defines the wider basin around this part of Carabobo.
