Te mapa
Takashima runs along the northwestern shore of Lake Biwa, Japan's largest lake. It is a wide municipality, formed in 2005 when several towns and villages merged. On a map, its eastern edge is one long, gently curving shoreline. Behind that shore lies a narrow band of rice fields and small settlements, and behind that, wooded mountains fill the western half of the sheet.
Rivers come down from those mountains and fan out into small deltas where they meet the lake. The Ado River makes the most visible delta, pushing the shoreline outward. Along the coast, Shirahige Shrine is known for its vermilion torii standing in the water. Farther north, near Makino, a long avenue of metasequoia trees has become a well-known seasonal landscape.
A Takashima map poster is mostly about contrast. The lake is a calm, open field of paper. The settled lowland is a fine web of roads and field boundaries. Forested slopes appear as sparse, winding lines. It is a quiet composition that suits a place people visit for water, trees and slower travel.
The eastern edge of the map is a single long coast, softly curved and broken only by river mouths and small harbours along the lake.
Where the Ado River reaches the lake, it builds a fan of land that pushes the shoreline outward, one of the clearest natural shapes on the sheet.
To the west, forested hills leave few roads, so the upper part of the map becomes an open area of thin, winding lines.

Koteā ko Takashima
Takashima draws people for lakeside cycling, shrine visits and seasonal tree avenues, and many remember it through one particular stretch of shore. A map poster keeps that memory as a clean, restful image rather than a photograph.
You can set the title, a subtitle such as a trip date and the coordinates line yourself. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Paper and Sand suit the soft lakeside mood.
