Tatsuno Map Poster & Print

Tatsuno lies at the northern end of the Ina Valley in Nagano Prefecture, just south of Lake Suwa. The Tenryū River flows out of the lake and passes through the town on its long journey to the Pacific. On the map, the river is the central line, and roads, rail and settlement follow its course along the valley.

The valley floor is a patchwork of rice fields, orchards and residential areas, with the town centre gathered around its station and main roads. Mountains rise on both sides, the Central Alps to the west and the Southern Alps to the east, and the built-up area thins as it climbs toward the forested slopes.

Tatsuno is known across Japan for its fireflies, which gather along local streams in early summer and draw many visitors. A Tatsuno map poster shows the valley that supports them: a river corridor, a small town and mountains on either side, a composition with a clear, calm symmetry.

Tenryū River

The river leaves Lake Suwa and runs south through the town, forming the main axis around which the valley is organised.

02

Valley floor

Rice fields, orchards and neighbourhoods fill the flat ground along the river, giving the map a fine, varied texture.

03

Between two ranges

Mountains rise to the west and east, and the lightly marked forested slopes frame the valley on both sides of the print.
