Te mapa
Teopisca lies in the Chiapas highlands, south-east of San Cristóbal de las Casas, on the main road towards Comitán. On a map the town shows the classic Mexican pattern. A regular grid of blocks surrounds a central plaza and church, and the streets loosen as they reach the surrounding slopes and fields.
The setting is mountainous but the town itself sits in a relatively open valley, so the grid holds its shape well. The highway passes along the settlement and forms the main connection to the wider region. Beyond it, farm tracks and small streams spread into the hills.
A Teopisca map poster suits people with roots in the highlands or travellers who have passed through on the road between San Cristóbal and Comitán. The neat colonial grid, framed by open country, gives a clear and balanced composition.
Streets form an even grid around the main square and church, the traditional layout of highland Chiapas towns and the natural centre of the poster.
The road linking San Cristóbal de las Casas and Comitán runs past the town and draws a strong diagonal across the frame.
Outside the grid, farm tracks and streams spread into pine-covered highland country, softening the edges of the plan.
