Te mapa
Tiquisio is a municipality in the south of Bolívar department, in the low, water-rich country of the Magdalena River basin. The land is shaped by rivers, marshes and seasonal lagoons known as ciénagas, and further south it rises towards the Serranía de San Lucas. On a map, water and wetland dominate, and the town appears as a small, concentrated patch of streets.
The urban centre is compact, a simple pattern of blocks close to the water, which has long been the main connection with the rest of the region. Around it, the drawing opens into meandering channels, wetland shapes and the thin lines of rural tracks. In this landscape the rivers often matter as much as the roads.
A Tiquisio map poster captures a place where geography sets the rules. The looping watercourses give the composition natural curves, and the town provides a dense point of focus. The open wetlands around it leave space for the eye. It is a meaningful image for families from southern Bolívar and for anyone who has travelled its rivers.
Wetlands, lagoons and winding river channels surround the municipality, drawn as irregular shapes that give the map a fluid, organic character.
The urban area is small and tightly arranged, a clear point of density within an otherwise open landscape of water and farmland.
To the south the terrain rises towards the Serranía de San Lucas, where the lowland pattern of water gives way to hill country.

Koteā ko Tiquisio
Tiquisio is far from Colombia's big cities, and many of its families have relatives who moved to Cartagena, Medellín or Bogotá. A map of the town and its rivers is a strong reminder of where they come from, and an unusual image for anyone drawn to river landscapes.
