Te mapa
Trenque Lauquen lies in the west of Buenos Aires Province, in the open farmland of the pampas. It was founded in 1876 as a military post on the frontier, and the town that grew around it follows the classic Argentine pattern. A regular grid of square blocks is centred on a main plaza, and wide avenues mark the edges of the original layout.
The name comes from the Mapuche language and is usually translated as round lagoon, after the lakes and lagoons of the area. Water still shapes the map, with lagoons lying among the fields close to town. A Trenque Lauquen map poster sets the strict order of the streets against those softer, irregular shorelines.
Beyond the grid the land is almost perfectly flat, divided into large rectangular fields by straight rural roads and fence lines. Railway tracks and highways cross this landscape in long, unbroken lines, connecting the town to the rest of the province. From above, Trenque Lauquen is a study in calm, clean geometry.
The town centre is a regular grid of square blocks around the main plaza, one of the clearest examples of the pampas town plan.
Lagoons and wetlands lie near the town. Their rounded outlines contrast with the straight streets and give the poster its softer shapes.
Straight country roads divide the surrounding farmland into large rectangles, carrying the town's geometry far beyond the last houses and streets.

Koteā ko Trenque Lauquen
People from the western pampas often feel strongly attached to their town's plaza and streets, and Trenque Lauquen is no exception. You can add a title and a subtitle with a name or a significant date, and adjust the coordinates line to suit.
The grid looks sharp in Classic black & white and Blueprint and bold in Noir, while Paper and Sand give it a warmth that suits the farmland. Six print sizes come as 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF for $9, and you can see a free watermarked preview first.
