Te mapa
Trinidad is the capital of Flores Department, in the agricultural heart of Uruguay. From above it reads as a clear example of the Spanish colonial plan: a regular chessboard of blocks, a main square at the centre and straight streets running out until they give way to fields. Few towns show the logic of that layout as cleanly as this one does.
The settlement began in the early nineteenth century under the name Porongos, and it still carries a quiet, administrative character. On the map, the dense core of short blocks gradually loosens toward the edges, where larger plots, sports grounds and rural roads begin. Creeks and shallow drainage lines wind through the surrounding land, breaking the geometry only at the outskirts.
A Trinidad map poster keeps that contrast between order and openness. The centre prints as a fine, even mesh of lines, while the roads leading out toward the rest of the department become long single strokes across empty paper. The result is calm and balanced, well suited to a minimalist black-and-white treatment.
The town is laid out around a main square, with evenly sized blocks repeating in every direction, a pattern that gives the poster a strong, symmetrical centre.
Toward the outskirts the blocks grow larger and less regular, and the street pattern thins out into plots, open ground and a few straight country roads.
As the capital of Flores, Trinidad sits where regional roads converge, and those routes stretch outward like spokes from the compact urban grid.
