Te mapa
Umaria lies in the northeast of Madhya Pradesh, in a landscape of low hills, forest and farmland. The town is compact, arranged around a railway line and a few main roads, with residential areas spreading along them and quickly giving way to fields, scrub and wooded slopes that fill the edges of the map.
It is the headquarters of Umaria district, best known as the home of Bandhavgarh National Park, one of India's most celebrated tiger reserves, which lies a short drive away. Coal mining has also shaped the area, and mining sites and their access roads appear around the town. An Umaria map poster shows a working town set within a wild, forested district.
At wider scales the map fills with hills, seasonal streams and the forest tracks that lead toward Bandhavgarh. The contrast is striking: a tight urban pattern around the station, surrounded by open land where lines become sparse and curving, suggesting the terrain and the forest without needing to show every tree.
The railway line runs through Umaria with the station at its heart, a strong line that organises the town's main roads and neighbourhoods.
Roads lead out of town toward the national park, winding through hills and villages on the way to one of India's best-known tiger reserves.
Around the town, hills and forest leave large open areas on the map, crossed by streams and sparse tracks that give the design breathing space.

Koteā ko Umaria
Umaria is a map for people from the district and for travellers who passed through on the way to Bandhavgarh, perhaps after a first tiger sighting. It records the town that sits quietly at the edge of the forest.
