The older part of town follows a fairly regular pattern of blocks, a familiar arrangement in Venezuelan towns. It gives the poster a calm, balanced centre.

Te mapa
Upata lies in the northern part of Bolívar state in eastern Venezuela, south of the Orinoco and the industrial cities of Guayana. On a map the town is a mostly regular street grid in a shallow valley. Around it the terrain starts to fold into the hills and savannah that lead toward the old rocks of the Guiana Shield.
The main roads leave the centre in a few clear directions and link Upata to the larger cities to the north and to the towns further south. Beyond the edges of the grid, the map opens into farmland, pasture and wooded slopes. Streams and small drainage lines break up the surface.
An Upata map poster is a portrait of a regional town rather than a famous landmark. It shows a tidy grid, a handful of main routes and hilly country around it. In black and white that restraint becomes the strength of the design.
The older part of town follows a fairly regular pattern of blocks, a familiar arrangement in Venezuelan towns. It gives the poster a calm, balanced centre.
Low, rolling hills circle the valley. They are shown as soft variations in the landscape rather than dramatic peaks, framing the town from every side.
A few highways lead out of Upata toward the cities of the Orinoco and the interior of Bolívar. They act as clean guiding lines across the map.

Koteā ko Upata
For Venezuelans abroad, or families with roots in Bolívar, a map of Upata is a quiet way to keep the town present in a new home. It shows the streets without needing a postcard view.
Add your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps a family name or the year someone left. Then pick one of five styles, Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, to suit the space.
