Te mapa
Vangaindrano lies in the Atsimo-Atsinanana region of south-eastern Madagascar, on the low coastal plain between the island's eastern highlands and the Indian Ocean. On the map the town appears as a modest cluster of streets, with roads leading off along the coast and inland.
The surrounding land is shaped by water. Rivers wind across the plain towards the sea, and low ground is given over to rice paddies, which show as smooth, open areas threaded with narrow channels. Villages sit along the roads and on slightly higher ground, linked by small tracks.
Vangaindrano is one of the southernmost towns on the eastern coastal road, a place where the main route becomes more remote as it continues south. A Vangaindrano map poster shows a quiet, water-shaped landscape, where the town is only one part of a wider pattern of rivers, fields and scattered settlements.
Flat land stretches between the hills and the ocean, and the town sits within it as a compact grouping of streets surrounded by open farmland.
Winding rivers and rice fields dominate the landscape around the town, their curves and channels giving the map a soft, fluid texture.
The main coastal road passes through the town, a single strong line linking it northwards to the rest of the east coast.
