Te mapa
Vecsés is in Pest County, directly southeast of Budapest, next to Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport. On a map, that neighbour is impossible to miss. The long runways and terminal grounds sit right beside the town, and their straight, oversized lines contrast with the fine grid of residential streets that make up most of Vecsés.
The town has a strong German heritage. It was settled by Danube Swabian families in the eighteenth century, and it is best known across Hungary for its sauerkraut, celebrated at an annual festival. The streets follow a mostly regular plan of long parallel roads, with the railway to Szolnok and the main road toward the capital cutting firm diagonals through it.
A Vecsés map poster shows a small town packed with infrastructure: residential blocks, rail, highway and runways all sharing one frame. It is a surprisingly graphic subject, because the airport's straight geometry makes a bold counterpoint. It suits residents, people who used to live here and anyone who has flown in over its rooftops.
The runways of Budapest's main airport run along the edge of town. They appear as long, perfectly straight bars, far larger than any street.
The residential areas follow long parallel roads with regular cross-streets, forming a tidy grid that reflects the town's settled, orderly growth.
The railway line and the main road toward Budapest cut through town at angles. They give the map a clear sense of connection to the capital.

Koteā ko Vecsés
Vecsés is a real home, not just the airport exit, and a street map lets residents show it that way. It also makes an unusual keepsake for frequent travellers through Budapest.
You can set the title, subtitle and coordinates to your own text and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Order a printed poster with an optional wooden frame, or download the HD files for $9.
