Te mapa
Viana lies in Luanda Province, to the east and south-east of the city centre, and over recent decades it has become one of the most populous parts of the metropolitan area. The map shows a place still taking shape: dense older neighbourhoods near the main roads, and large new districts laid out on land that was open until recently.
The Luanda railway runs east through Viana toward Malanje, and major roads connect the municipality to the capital and to the interior. Planned housing areas such as Zango appear on the map as regular blocks of identical streets, a strong contrast to the more organic patterns of older settlements.
A Viana map poster captures that mix at one moment in time. In black and white the difference between planned grids and informal growth becomes a design of its own, and the result is a portrait of a city that most maps show only as the edge of Luanda.
The line toward Malanje passes through Viana, drawn as a steady line across the map that has shaped where neighbourhoods first grew.
New housing zones appear as tightly repeated blocks, some of the most geometric patterns anywhere in the Luanda region.
Around the outskirts the street network thins into open ground, recording a municipality that is still expanding outward.

Koteā ko Viana
Viana is home to a large share of Luanda's residents, and for many families it is where a new house or a new start began. A map of it records that, and the clean lines work well in a modern interior.
You can add your own title, subtitle and coordinates, for example a family name and a year. The poster comes in five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, as a digital HD file or printed and shipped.
