Te mapa
Villazón lies at the southern tip of Bolivia on the high altiplano, at an elevation of around 3,400 metres. It is one of the main crossing points between Bolivia and Argentina. On a map the town's streets form a close grid that stops at a small river, and on the other side the grid of La Quiaca continues, the two towns nearly mirroring each other.
The international bridge across the river is the hinge of the whole composition, with a steady flow of pedestrians, traders and travellers passing through. Around the two towns the landscape is wide and sparse, with dry plains, low ridges and a railway line heading north into Bolivia. Few roads cross the open ground, so the settled area stands out sharply.
A Villazón map poster captures this particular geography: two countries, two towns and a single crossing, all set in high, open country. It makes a thoughtful keepsake for travellers who crossed here overland, for people from Villazón and La Quiaca, and for anyone drawn to border towns.
A narrow river separates Villazón from La Quiaca. On the map it is the thin line where one national street grid ends and another begins.
The two towns face each other with similar block patterns. Printed together, they read almost as a single town split in two.
Dry high plains and low ridges surround the settlements, with a rail line heading north. The wide empty space around the grid emphasises the altitude and isolation.

Koteā ko Villazón
For many travellers Villazón marks the start or end of an overland journey through South America. A map of the crossing is a precise souvenir of that moment, far better than a photo of a queue.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with the date you crossed. Five styles are available: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
