Te mapa
Virār lies at the northern end of the Mumbai metropolitan region, in the Vasai-Virar municipal area of Palghar district. On the map its shape follows the railway: housing and markets spread out on both sides of the Western line, with the station roughly at the centre. To the east the land rises into wooded hills, and to the west it slopes gently towards creeks, salt pans and the Arabian Sea.
Virār is best known as a terminus of Mumbai's suburban rail network. The fast local trains between Virār and Churchgate are famously crowded, and for many residents the daily commute into the city defines the rhythm of life. On a hill east of town stands the Jivdani temple, reached by a long flight of steps.
A Virār map poster shows a town still growing into its surroundings. Dense blocks near the station thin out into newer housing estates, then into fields, water and tidal land. The railway runs through it all in one clean line from south to north, the thread that connects this place to the rest of Mumbai.

Wooded slopes rise beyond the eastern edge of the town, where building gives way to open ground. The Jivdani temple stands on one of these hills.
Westwards, the land breaks up into creeks, marshes and salt pans before reaching the Arabian Sea, a loose pattern of water and land at the map's edge.

Koteā ko Virār
Virār is home to a huge number of Mumbai's commuters, and a map of it is a map of daily life: the station, the lanes around it and the hills beyond. It makes a personal print for a first flat or a family home.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates, and pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. HD files cost $9 in six sizes, and a free watermarked preview lets you check the design first.
