Island and channel

Te mapa
Vitória, capital of Espírito Santo, is built largely on an island in a bay on Brazil's southeastern coast. The map is shaped by water on every side: a narrow channel separates the city from Vila Velha to the south, mangroves line the northern shores of the bay, and the open Atlantic meets the long beach of Camburi on the mainland side.
Several bridges tie the island to the mainland, most prominently the Terceira Ponte, a tall span across the bay to Vila Velha. The historic centre climbs steep hills near the channel, while the port handles large volumes of cargo, including iron ore through the Tubarão terminal. The city is also known for moqueca capixaba, a fish stew cooked in clay pots.
A Vitória map poster places the island, bays and bridges at the centre of the composition. Granite hills break the street grid into irregular pockets, and reclaimed waterfront areas add straighter edges along the shore. In black and white, the pattern of land and water reads with unusual clarity, making it one of the more graphic coastal cities to hang.
Much of the city occupies an island separated from the mainland by narrow channels, so the water outline forms the strongest shape on the map.
The tall bridge across the bay links Vitória to Vila Velha, a long straight line spanning open water near the mouth of the channel.
Granite hills interrupt the street grid in the centre, while mangrove areas along the northern shore leave broad, textured spaces between neighbourhoods.

Koteā ko Vitória
Coastal cities make especially clear map posters, and Vitória, with its island shape and bridges, is among the most legible. It suits anyone from Espírito Santo, or anyone who remembers long summer days along its beaches.
Choose one of five styles, from Classic black & white to Blueprint, which suits the water well, as well as Noir, Paper and Sand, and personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates. HD files are $9 in six sizes, and printed posters arrive on matte paper, with or without a wooden frame.
