Te mapa
Vukovar stands where the small Vuka river joins the Danube, in the far east of Croatia. Here the Danube forms the border with Serbia, and on a map its wide sweep defines the town's eastern edge. The Vuka cuts through the centre on its way to the larger river. It divides the Baroque old core into two banks joined by short bridges.
The town grew as the estate centre of the Eltz family, whose large manor house now holds the city museum. Vukovar was heavily damaged in the siege of 1991, and its shell-scarred water tower has been kept as a memorial and symbol. Just downstream on the Danube lies Vučedol, the archaeological site that gave its name to a prehistoric culture.
A Vukovar map poster brings these layers together in a simple form: the broad river, the narrow tributary, the tight streets of the old town and the newer districts on higher ground. For many people it is a map with deep meaning, a place of memory as well as of everyday life.
The Danube curves along the whole eastern side of Vukovar. Its wide band of open water anchors the composition and marks the border with Serbia.
The small Vuka river winds through the town centre and meets the Danube, splitting the Baroque core into two halves linked by short crossings.
Southeast of the centre, on the Danube bank, lies the Vučedol site. It is known for its prehistoric culture and the ceramic dove found there.

Koteā ko Vukovar
People often choose a Vukovar map as a tribute to a birthplace, to family who lived there, or to the resilience the town has come to represent. The river setting also makes a strong composition, with the Danube giving the poster a clear, calm edge.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with a year or a family name, and keep the exact coordinates line. Styles include Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Each order can be a $9 digital download or a printed poster shipped from a nearby print partner.
