Wenceslau Braz lies in the Norte Pioneiro region of Paraná, in southern Brazil. From above, the town has a fairly regular grid at its core, which bends and breaks where it meets the rolling hills and small streams around it. Main roads leave the centre toward neighbouring towns, and farmland covers the surrounding slopes.
The town is named after Wenceslau Braz, who was president of Brazil during the First World War. Like much of this part of Paraná, it grew through agriculture as settlers moved in during the twentieth century. It remains a regional service town surrounded by working farmland.
