Te mapa
Yasothon lies in northeastern Thailand on the Chi River, which curves along the edge of the town. From above, the centre is a compact grid of streets beside the water, surrounded by the flat, low-lying rice land typical of the Isan plateau. Irrigation channels and small ponds scatter the land around the town.
Yasothon is best known across Thailand for its Bun Bang Fai rocket festival, held each year before the rainy season. Locals build and launch large homemade rockets to call for rain. During the festival, parades and launches fill the town. The rest of the year, it is a quiet provincial capital that serves the surrounding farming villages.
A Yasothon map poster centres on the relationship between river and town. The Chi's meanders form a soft, curving edge. The grid of the centre sits beside it, and the open plain spreads out beyond. In black and white, the composition feels calm and spacious, like the landscape of the northeast itself.
The river curves along the town's edge in wide loops. It is the main natural feature on the map and gives the composition its flowing line.
Yasothon hosts one of Thailand's best-known Bun Bang Fai rocket festivals, when homemade rockets are launched to call for the rains that rice farming depends on.
Flat farmland surrounds the town in every direction, broken by ponds and irrigation channels. It gives the map a wide, quiet setting.

Koteā ko Yasothon
For people from Yasothon, working in Bangkok or abroad, the map is a way to keep home close. For festival visitors, it is a memory of the rockets and the crowds. Either way, the river and grid make a clean composition.
