Te mapa
Yuzhou is a county-level city in central Henan, administered by Xuchang, on the Ying River. The river runs across the area from west to east, and the city is laid out mainly on its northern side. The street pattern is largely regular, as is typical of Chinese cities of this size, with wide main roads forming a grid and denser blocks towards the centre.
The city is best known for Jun ware, one of the celebrated ceramic traditions of the Song dynasty, prized for its thick glazes that shift in colour. Jun kilns are associated with Yuzhou and with the town of Shenhou in the hills to its west. Tradition also connects the area with Yu the Great, the legendary flood-tamer and founder of the Xia dynasty. The city's name reflects that link.
To the west the terrain rises towards the hills, and to the east it flattens into the North China Plain. On a Yuzhou map poster, that contrast is visible: a compact, gridded city beside a winding river, with farmland spreading across level ground on one side and hills beginning on the other.
The river crosses the area from west to east along the city's southern edge. It adds a long, gentle curve against the regular urban grid.
Wide main roads divide the centre into large, regular blocks. The result is a clear, well-ordered pattern that reads cleanly in black and white.
West of the city, roads start to bend and follow the rising ground towards the upland areas. Those are the areas tied to the region's historic kilns.

Koteā ko Yuzhou
For collectors of Jun ware, or for people with family in Yuzhou, this map connects a famous craft to a real place. The simple layout of river and grid makes a calm, orderly poster.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be personalised, for example with a name in pinyin, a date or a message. Choose from five styles. Sand and Paper have a soft, ceramic-like tone that suits the city's heritage.
