Te mapa
Zawyat ech Cheïkh sits in the Beni Mellal-Khénifra region of central Morocco, on the edge of the Middle Atlas where the mountains begin to give way to the lowlands. Its name refers to a zawiya, a religious lodge, a naming pattern shared by many Moroccan towns. On a map the streets spread across sloping ground, with hills rising on one side and farmland opening on the other.
The surrounding area mixes mountain and plain within a short distance. Watercourses coming down from the Atlas cut shallow valleys, orchards and fields follow the lower slopes, and roads twist uphill before straightening out on flatter ground. That meeting of two landscapes shows up clearly in black and white, with the dense grain of town streets set against the looser pattern of the countryside.
A Zawyat ech Cheïkh map poster is for those who know the town personally, including the many Moroccans with family roots in the Middle Atlas who now live in larger cities or abroad. The composition is naturally balanced between built-up area and open land. With a family name or a year in the subtitle, a simple map becomes a quiet record of origin.
Rising ground on one side of the town gives the map a clear sense of direction, with streets bending as they climb towards the slopes of the Middle Atlas.
Close-set houses and narrow lanes form a tight, fine-grained core, the kind of pattern that looks especially striking on a minimal print.
Streams descending from the mountains carve shallow valleys around the town, with farm tracks and field edges following their course.

Koteā ko Zawyat ech Cheïkh
Families from the Middle Atlas often keep a strong bond with their home town even after moving to Casablanca, Europe or beyond. A map of Zawyat ech Cheïkh is a restrained way to honour that, and it sits well in a modern interior without looking like a souvenir.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line to suit the person it is for. Five styles are offered, from Classic black & white to Sand. Download the six HD print sizes for $9, or order a printed poster on matte paper with an optional wooden frame.
