Te mapa
Zoucheng lies in southern Shandong, on the plain west of the hills of central Shandong. The city is built on a regular grid of wide streets, with newer districts extending outward into surrounding farmland, and hills rising to the east and south.
It is known as the birthplace of Mencius, the Confucian philosopher, and the Temple of Mencius stands within the older part of the city. A Zoucheng map poster captures this blend of ancient tradition and modern planning, with the historic core set within a broad, orderly street plan.
Zoucheng lies close to Qufu, the hometown of Confucius, and together they form an important area for Confucian heritage. The region is also known for coal mining, with industrial sites appearing on the outskirts of the city.
The temple complex sits within the old city, appearing as a quiet area among the surrounding streets and courtyards.
Modern Zoucheng is laid out in broad, rectangular blocks, a clean pattern typical of cities on the North China Plain.
Hills rise east and south of the city, where the street network thins out and the land becomes more varied.
