Jājarm is a town in North Khorasan Province in northeastern Iran. It lies on a plain between the mountains to the north and the drier country to the south, which leads towards the central deserts. The town is compact, with a network of streets around its centre, and gardens and fields fade into open steppe at the edges.
Jājarm is known across Iran for the bauxite deposits nearby and the alumina plant built to process them, which made the area an important industrial site. A railway line also serves the town and connects it to the national network. On the map, these industrial and transport links show up as long lines stretching out from the compact town.
