Andol is a town in Telangana, on the Deccan plateau north-west of Hyderabad. It is a small place, and its map shows a dense core of lanes and houses. The main roads lead out towards neighbouring towns, and farmland stretches away on all sides.
As in much of the Deccan, water shapes the landscape. Tanks and reservoirs, some of them old, appear as irregular pale shapes among the fields, fed by seasonal streams that thread across the plateau. Andol forms a twin municipality with nearby Jogipet, and the two settlements read together as one wider cluster on the map.
