The map
Abū al Maţāmīr sits in Beheira, near the western edge of the Nile Delta, where the green, densely farmed land starts to give way to desert. From above, the town is a compact knot of streets surrounded by fields, and the lines of irrigation canals and drains divide those fields into long, narrow strips.
The older core is a tight weave of lanes and closely packed buildings, typical of delta market towns. Wider roads run out from it toward neighbouring villages and other towns of the governorate. Canal banks often double as tracks, so water and roads tend to run side by side across the map in long parallel lines.
Further west, the landscape changes character. Land reclaimed from the desert across this part of Egypt is usually laid out in larger, more regular plots, which makes a clear contrast with the finer, older field pattern closer to the Nile. An Abū al Maţāmīr map poster records that meeting of old delta farmland and newer, planned ground.
Irrigation channels and drains cross the countryside in long, straight runs, giving the map a ruled, almost textile-like rhythm around the town.
At the centre, narrow lanes and tightly packed blocks form a darker cluster of lines, clearly set apart from the open fields around it.
To the west the fine field pattern of the old delta gives way to broader, more regular plots, a visible boundary between two kinds of land.

Why Abū al Maţāmīr
For anyone who grew up in Beheira or has family in the town, this map shows home the way it really works: water channels, fields and the lanes that tie them together. It makes a quiet, personal piece for a wall far from the delta.
Write the town's name in Latin or Arabic script in the title, add a family name or date in the subtitle and adjust the coordinates line. The five styles are Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, and Sand suits the desert-edge setting well.
