The Nile edge
The river runs along the town's western side as a wide, smooth band. It is the steadiest line on the sheet, and every other feature lines up with it.

The map
Al Bayāḑīyah lies on the east bank of the Nile, a short distance south of Luxor. From above, the town is a tight cluster of streets set between the river and a band of cultivated land. Field boundaries, irrigation channels and farm tracks spread out around it in fine, repeating lines. Where the water stops reaching, the desert takes over.
That contrast carries the whole map. On one side is the broad, calm line of the Nile. In the middle is a patchwork of plots and paths. On the far side, open ground has almost no marks at all. In black and white, the green valley and the empty sand become two textures, one busy and one blank, with the town caught between them.
The wider governorate is known around the world for the temples of ancient Thebes, including Karnak and Luxor Temple, a little way up the river. An Al Bayāḑīyah map poster shows another side of the same valley: a place where daily life still follows the water. It suits anyone who knows this stretch of the river as home rather than as a stop on a tour.
The river runs along the town's western side as a wide, smooth band. It is the steadiest line on the sheet, and every other feature lines up with it.
Around the houses, narrow plots and irrigation lines form a dense, finely drawn grid. This agricultural pattern shows up well in the Paper and Sand styles.
To the east the drawn detail thins out quickly into open ground. The sharp edge of the cultivated land gives the composition a strong, clean boundary.

Why Al Bayāḑīyah
People hang this map to remember a specific stretch of the Nile, a family village, or a winter spent near Luxor. Its lines are simple and honest: river, fields, streets, then open land.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a family name or a year, and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. It comes as a $9 HD download in six sizes, or as a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
