The map
Al Marāghah is a town in Sohag Governorate in Upper Egypt, on the western side of the Nile valley and the centre of a district of the same name. Here the valley is a narrow green strip between two deserts, and almost all life depends on the river and the irrigation that spreads its water.
From above, the town is a compact cluster of streets and blocks surrounded by farmland. Canals and drains run through the fields in long lines, often with roads or tracks following them. Villages dot the plain, and the main highway and railway of Upper Egypt run the length of the valley nearby.
An Al Marāghah map poster shows that close relationship between settlement and water. The dense town, the fine grid of fields and the straight channels create a detailed and orderly composition. It is a quiet portrait of a place shaped by the Nile and centuries of farming.

The built-up area is dense and compact, with narrow streets packed tightly together in contrast to the open fields around it.
The main road and railway through Upper Egypt run along the valley, drawing firm north–south lines past the district.

Why Al Marāghah
For families from Al Marāghah, in Egypt or abroad, a map of the town is a personal link to home and to the fields of the Nile valley. It makes a thoughtful gift for anyone far from Sohag.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, in Arabic or English. Choose from five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand reflects the colours of the valley and its desert edges.
