The map

About this Anjozorobe map poster

Anjozorobe is a town in the Analamanga region of Madagascar's central highlands, north-east of the capital, Antananarivo. The surrounding country is typical of the plateau: rounded hills, narrow valleys worked into rice paddies, and villages linked by winding roads and footpaths.

The town is known as a gateway to the Anjozorobe-Angavo forest corridor, a protected stretch of highland rainforest along the eastern edge of the plateau. On a map, that edge shows as a change in texture, from open farmed valleys to a denser, less settled landscape.

A small town like this draws modestly from above. A few main streets, a market area and roads leading out towards outlying villages. An Anjozorobe map poster keeps that simplicity and lets the contours of the terrain, traced by roads and streams, carry the composition.

01

Valley rice fields

Streams run through the low ground between the hills, and the roads and tracks that follow them draw a branching pattern typical of the Malagasy highlands.

02

Road to the capital

The main road towards Antananarivo leaves town as a single winding line, the town's most important link and the clearest axis on the map.

03

Forest corridor

To the east, the settled landscape gives way to the Anjozorobe-Angavo protected forest, where the road network thins out and the map becomes noticeably quieter.
