About this Boca Chica map poster
Boca Chica lies on the southern coast of the Dominican Republic, a short distance east of Santo Domingo and close to Las Américas International Airport. Its defining shape is the bay: a shallow, calm stretch of water held back from the open Caribbean by a coral reef, which is why the beach here is known for water that stays still and warm.
From above, the town is a strip of streets pressed against the shoreline, with a small grid running inland from the beach road. Small islets sit offshore inside the reef line, and the coast curves gently along the length of town. Behind it, the built-up area gives way to highways heading west to the capital and east along the coast.
