The map

About this Bojonegoro map poster

Bojonegoro lies on the south bank of the Bengawan Solo, Java's longest river, which meanders across the lowlands of East Java here. On a map, the river curves around the northern edge of town and sets the main orientation. Streets fan out south from its bank towards the railway and the main east–west road.

At the centre is the alun-alun, the square that anchors every regency seat in Java, with government buildings and a mosque at its edges. Beyond the town, the pattern is rice paddies, villages and irrigation channels, with the teak forests of the Kendeng hills and the lower slopes further south.

The regency is known nationally for oil. The Cepu block, including the large Banyu Urip field, lies within its territory. A Bojonegoro map poster shows a quieter side of the place, with a riverside town, its central square, and the farmland that spreads across the plain in every direction.

01

Bengawan Solo

Java's longest river loops past the north side of town in wide bends. On the map it forms a strong, flowing curve.

02

Alun-alun square

The central open square sits in the middle of the grid. It gives the map a clear focus, as it does in many Javanese regency towns.

03

Railway line

The main northern Java railway passes through town. It draws a long straight line across the web of streets and fields.
