The map
Čair is one of the municipalities that make up the city of Skopje, lying on the north bank of the Vardar. On a map it begins close to the river, where the streets of the Old Bazaar form a tight, irregular knot, and then extends northward into residential blocks and houses that spread toward the higher ground above the city.
The Old Bazaar, the Čaršija, is one of the largest surviving Ottoman-era market districts in the Balkans, and much of it lies within Čair. Its narrow passages, courtyards and small squares contrast sharply with the wider boulevards across the river. The municipality is also a centre of Skopje's Albanian community, with mosques scattered through its neighbourhoods.
A Čair map poster captures that layered texture: the dense core near the water, the bridges crossing toward the city centre, and the looser pattern of later housing further north. In monochrome, the change from old market lanes to modern streets is easy to read and rewarding to study up close, detail by detail.

The Vardar forms the southern edge of the municipality, a broad calm line separating Čair from the city centre, crossed by several bridges within a short stretch.
Moving away from the river, blocks grow more regular and residential, with small streets filling the ground up toward the northern edge of the city.

Why Čair
For people with family roots in Čair, or anyone who has spent time wandering the bazaar, this map is a quiet reminder of a very particular corner of Skopje. It works well framed on its own or hung beside a poster of the wider city.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with a family name or a year, and pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. A free 900 px watermarked preview lets you check the layout before buying the $9 HD files.
