About this Claremore map poster
Claremore lies in Rogers County, northeast of Tulsa, in the rolling country of northeastern Oklahoma. From above, the town is organised around a historic downtown grid near the railroad, with newer neighbourhoods spreading out in larger, looser blocks. Historic Route 66 runs through town on a diagonal, a line many visitors come to trace.
Claremore is best known as the hometown associated with Will Rogers, and the Will Rogers Memorial Museum stands on a hill overlooking the town. Rogers State University has its campus here as well. East of town, Claremore Lake adds an irregular shoreline to the map, while the Verdigris River valley lies to the west.
