Diyadin Map Poster & Print
Diyadin lies in Ağrı province in eastern Turkey, on the high plateau not far from the borders with Iran. The landscape around it is wide and treeless, with long valleys between rounded ridges. On the map the town looks compact and firmly placed, a cluster of streets in a valley where roads and water come together.
The upper Murat River, one of the main sources of the Euphrates, runs through this part of the province, and its winding course is a strong line in the surrounding terrain. Diyadin is best known for its thermal springs, where hot mineral water comes to the surface and has left pale travertine deposits. The region is also within the wider horizon of Mount Ararat.
