Nagar is a town in eastern Rajasthan, in the north-eastern part of the state not far from the borders of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. The land here is flat and agricultural, far removed from the desert image many people associate with Rajasthan, and the map reflects that: a dense town core surrounded by open fields and a web of roads to surrounding villages.
As is common in the region, the older part of town is built tightly, with narrow lanes and small plots packed close together, while newer building extends along the main roads.
